1980 Corvette

“I know I already did a Corvette (’74) but they used to be one of my favorite cars back in the late 70s, another being Trans Am like in Smokey and the Bandit. Now, I think I like cars made in 59-60 with the fins the best. There was just an artistry to them, a sleek vehicle cutting through the air. 1980 is my cutoff point for these classic cars. Actually, 79 was going to be before I saw this vette. Other than little sporty cars like this, the design of most late 70s early 80s cars were boring; just kind of “boxy” and utilitarian with little attention to any kind of aesthetic design. Around the time I was planning this one out, I just happened to see several movies set in the late 70s and early 80s. I made a few sketches of the hairstyles and clothes from around that time and used them. I think I got pretty accurate on them.”
